The American Israel Public Affairs Committee said it would increase transparency in the wake of a growing scandal. In its first public statement on an FBI investigation into the leaking of classified information from the Pentagon that led to the firing of two senior staff members, AIPAC officials said Sunday that the group has been assured by the government that it is not a target.
