The American Jewish colony of Reanans arranged Chanukah festivities for an Arab village in the neighborhood, it was reported here today. The sheikh and mukhter of the village spoke warmly of Arab-Jewish relations and expressed confidence that both communities would prosper under the administration of the British who, they said, would undoubtedly win the war.
At modest graduation ceremony for 29 students of the Hebrew University, held in the recently-inaugurated Rosen bloom Building, President Judah L. Magnes disclosed that 50 students had joined the British forces and a number of graduates were employed in positions of wartime importance. Among the graduates are two privates now serving “somewhere in the Middle East.”
