The American Jewish Committee expressed disappointment at Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar’s veto of a measure to protect religious freedom in his state. Other Jewish groups could join the AJCommittee in opposing last Friday’s veto, which Edgar said he made because this particular Religious Freedom Restoration Act did not apply to prisoners.
