The American Jewish Congress asked a federal appeals court to uphold a ruling against a disclaimer issued by a Louisiana school board on the theory of evolution. The AJCongress urged the court to find that the school board’s statement, which maintained that evolution conflicted with the biblical version of creation, violated the separation between church and state.
