The American Jewish Congress condemned the Kansas Board of Education’s rejection of evolution as a scientific principle suitable for teaching. The 10- member board last week voted to embrace new standards for science curricula that eliminate evolution as an underlying principle of biology and other sciences. The AJCongress said the move “brings science teaching in that state back to an earlier time before all sorts of scientific advances got in the way of true beliefs.”
