The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee-Israel was one of four to receive an Israel Prize for life achievement, special contribution to society and state. Israeli Education Minister Yuli Tamir announced the winners Sunday. The others are: Former Israel Manufacturers Association head Dov Lautman; Kibbutz Geva’s Givatron folk-song ensemble; and religious scholar and feminist Alice Shalvi.
