The Anti-Defamation League applauded the conviction of a former imperial wizard of the Ku Klux Klan for the 1966 murder of civil rights activist Vernon Dahmer Jr. “Justice has finally been achieved,” the ADL said after Samuel Bowers was led away in handcuffs last Friday to begin serving a life sentence for orchestrating the murder. Four trials of Bowers during the 1960s had ended with deadlocked juries.
