The anti-Jewish campaign in Germany today assumed the same character as in the early days of the Nazis’ coming into power. Jews were again forced to parade on the streets with degrading placards and inflammatory anti – Jewish speeches were made in different parts of the country by members of the Nazi cabinet and by Nazi district leaders.
In the city of Luebeck a Jew was forced to parade through the streets bearing a placard, “I criticized the labor laws.” A large procession followed the Jew, who was later taken away by the police under “protective arrest.”
ORDER HITS DRUGGISTS
A secret order was issued by the Ministry of Propaganda to eliminate Jews from the pharmacy trade. All drug stores owned by Jews must be “dejudaised” within two years, according to the edict. No new permits for operating pharmacies are to be issued to Jews, the order further provides.
In view of the fact that German Jewish leaders now realize that the government is definitely determined to eliminate Jews from all phases of life in the Reich and that there is no hope for any improvement in the government’s attitude towards the Jews, a twenty-five year emigration plan by which the entire Jewish population will quit Germany was under consideration today by Jewish leaders in Berlin.
