The Brazilian Government may admit scores of Jewish diamond cutters from Holland who are now in Portugal, the newspaper Correio Paulistano reports. It states that the plan originated with Orleans Soares Carvalho, Lisbon representative of the Rio de Janeiro Chamber of Commerce, who suggested to his home office that these craftsmen could create a new industry with Brazil’s resources of raw diamonds.
