A French journalist, who has been touring the Baltic states to investigate the extent of swastika’s influence there, when passing through Berlin on his way back, ran into the notorious “Count” and “General” Bermond-Avaloff.

It appears that this adventurer of unsavory reputation has been assigned by the moguls of Naziland to give shape to Russian fascist organization.

That’s their story anyway, and they will be stuck with it. Behind this lies the ill-concealed eagerness of Hitlerites to dominate the Baltic regions. Their campaign in that direction is conducted along well-defined lines.

In Munich there exists a secret society known as the Baltic Brotherhood which is fomenting situations that would make opportune the annexation of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. The membership of that group comprises about 400 barons many of whom achieved eminence in the days of the Russian Empire. Initiation into the Baltic Brotherhood is accomplished by medieval ritual.

Members of the organization are waging an unremitting campaign of propaganda among the German bourgeoisie of Estonia and Lithuania.

In addition, they are bringing into existence Germanophile fascist groups throughout the Baltic countries and Finland. It is in connection with these goings-on and with the consent of the barons that Rosenberg had imported Bermond-Avaloff. He will know how to hatch the Nazi eggs in the troubled, muddy waters of Baltic politics.
