The Cabinet Sunday voted down a Mapam move to ban the Gush Emunim’s planned Passover march through the Judaea hills to Jericho. Only Victor Shemtov and Shlomo Rosen of Mapam voted for the ban. The Independent Liberal Party abstained and all other ministers voted to allow the march, scheduled to begin next Sunday. Defense Minister Shimon Peres stressed that the march planners had pledged to keep away from inhabited areas and not to attempt to set up un-authorized settlements.
