The Catholic Church’s top representative to world Jewry recommended that the Vatican open its secret archives to a team of Jewish and Catholic scholars. Jewish leaders, who have sought a full disclosure of the Vatican’s wartime activities, hailed the recommendation by Cardinal Edward Cassidy.
