The chairman of the World Jewish Congress met with senior Vatican officials Thursday to discuss plans for a religious roundtable. Rabbi Israel Singer is promoting a dialogue that he hopes will harness the power and influence of high-level moderate Muslim clergy. The Italy visit followed Singer’s first official meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, with whom he also discussed his proposal for interfaith dialogue.
