The charges against an Israeli soldier accused of killing a British activist were upgraded to murder. The soldier has admitted that he shot Hurndall as a deterrent, according to the Israeli Defense Forces. An activist with the pro-Palestinian International Solidarity Movement, Hurndall was shot in the Gaza Strip last 2003.
