The chief Muslim cleric in Israel issued a religious edict against road deaths. “The fatwah I have written states that anyone who deliberately breaks traffic laws or causes someone else to do so is breaking Islamic religious law, because that law encourages and supports everything that helps preserve life,” Sheik Abdallah Nimr Darweesh, founder and spiritual head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, told the Jerusalem Post on Thursday.
