The Cincinnati Post, a member of the Scripps-Howard newspaper chain, today charged in an editorial that Charles E. Coughlin’s magazine, “Social Justice,” was “preaching pure and unadulterated Nazi propaganda.”
“Father Coughlin’s doctrines, taken as a whole, do not give the impression that he wants America to win,” the Post declared. The editorial was reprinted by other newspapers in the same chain. It declared that the Detroit priest “could not be doing a better job for Joseph Goebbels if he were being paid $1,000,000 a year in Nazi gold.”
