The comment by the Jornal do Brasil is apparently indicative of a reversal of policy on the part of the newspaper, since only last month the Jornal featured a detailed aricle on the growth and reconstruction of Palestine. The article, which was accompanied by photographs of the new Palestine, was written by Dalbo Cortez, one of the editors of the Jornal do Brasil, and was called “The Return of the Jews to Palestine, the Zionist Ideal and the Renaissance of Israel in Its Historic Land.”
At the time it appeared, the artcle was considered a phenomenon favorable to the efforts of the Palestine Labor Fund, which is now conducting a campaign in Brazil. The Jornal do Brasil is one of teh oldest and most influential newspapers in the country.
