The Communist organ, “Rote Fahne,” today publishes a story denying that the Communists in the Prussian Diet voted for the law calling for the confiscation of the property of East European Jews, as indicated in the minutes of the Diet sessions.
The paper asserts that the Communists introduced an amendment and substituted the phrase “East European Jews” with the phrase “royal properties.”
The Communist organ, however, deliberately makes no mention of the facts, as confirmed by Communist leaders to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, that when this amendment was defeated the Communists voted for the entire law, because they did not wish to lose the benefits to be derived from that section which calls all those earning more than 1,000 marks monthly to contribute the surplus to the government treasury.
