The Jewish Committee on Calendar Reform, consisting of Chief Rabbi Israel Levi, of France, Chief Rabbi Dr. J. H. Hertz, Chief Rabbi Dr. Fuerst, of Vienna, and Chief Rabbi Dr. Lewenstein of Zurich, has been considering the convocation of a Conference of Jewish Communities this month to take measures to fight against the danger of the adoption of calendar reform by the Conference called for next October by the League of Nations Commission on Communication and Transit, which would have the effect of instituting a blank day causing a shifting of the seventh day, resulting in introducing confusion in the observance of the Jewish Sabbath.
