President Roosevelt, Governor Dewey of New York, Dr. Chaim Weizmann and a number of other Jewish and non-Jewish personalities yesterday greeted Morris Weinberg, publisher of the Jewish daily newspaper “The Day,” on the occasion of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the paper.
The occasion was marked by the publication of a special anniversary issue in four sections and by the introduction of an English section which will appear in the Sunday edition. President Roosevelt, in his message from the White House, said that “The Day” has become a national institution during the thirty years of its existence and that “most Americans are aware of its influence.”
