The Defense Ministry denied Wednesday reports that Defense Minister Ezer Weizman made a three-day secret visit to South Africa last weekend to discuss “security matters.” The reports, based on one which first appeared in Maariv, claimed that Weizman was sent to South Africa by Premier Menachem Begin and only a few Cabinet ministers knew about in Begin and Weizman reportedly held a lengthy meeting Tuesday but no details were given.
