The East German Peoples Republic will open a museum at the site of the former Buchenwald concentration camp, near Weimar, on April 12, in connection with the 40th anniversary of the defeat of the Nazis. The official news agency, ADN, said the museum would focus on the resistance by camp inmates to their Nazi guards. In line with past practice, the ADN announcement made no reference to the fact that many of the camp inmates were Jews.
