The editor of the Yiddish Forward newspaper died at the age of 76. Mordechai Strigler, who was born in Poland, studied as a child at one of Poland’s most distinguished yeshivas. During World War II, when he was sent to Majdanek and Buchenwald, he was a member of the Resistance.
