The European Union called on Yasser Arafat to stop describing suicide bombers as martyrs and clearly condemn them as terrorists. Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Pique, whose country holds the rotating E.U. presidency, said in a radio interview Wednesday that suicide attacks create “an obstacle to a future of peace for the Palestinian people and the Israeli people.”
