The European Union is considering sanctions against Iran because of its president’s Holocaust denial and calls for Israel’s destruction. “These comments are wholly unacceptable and have no place in civilized political debate,” said a statement issued last Friday at an E.U. summit just days before the European Union is to resume negotiations with Iran over its nuclear programs.
