The first Chalutz from Cleveland sails for Palestine today on the S.S. Vulcania.
Joseph Seide of this city who has the distinction of being the first Clevelander to be a Chalutz to Palestine, will be one of ten leaving for Palestine under the auspices of the Histadruth. He is a graduate of Fenn College of Cleveland as a Civil Engineer, having specialized in hydraulics. He holds the rank of First Lieutenant in the United States Army, having risen to this rank in the Officer’s Reserve. He came to the United States from Latvia 15 years ago.
Rabbi Frederick Frank, Baltitmore, Md., who was ordained at the Hebrew Union College this year, has been appointed rabbi of Beth Or Congregation at Raleigh, N. C. He will take up his new duties the latter part of this month.
