The first Israeli Jewish civilian was killed in ongoing clashes in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza Strip, bringing the total number killed in fighting between Israelis and Palestinians to at least 45. As Israel rolled out tanks to combat the violence, fighting spread throughout Israel proper, claiming the lives of at least five Israeli Arabs.
