The first new settlement to be established under the unity government was opened Wednesday at a ceremony attended by Foreign Minister Yitzhak Shamir. The settlement, Migdalim, on the trans-Samaria road, is the first of six new settlements scheduled to be established in the West Bank and Gaza under the terms of the coalition agreement between Labor and Likud. The first civilian settlers will be moving into Migdalim within the next few days.
