The first no-confidence motion in Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s new government is being presented Monday in the Knesset. The motion was brought by the fervently Orthodox Shas and United Torah Judaism parties, which accused the government of violating the religious status quo and of bearing responsibility for new economic measures that would further harm the economy.
