The first organized Goodwill Day to be held in South Africa was observed last week-end. There was a widespread response from practically all denominations in the Union. Special goodwill services were held in synagogues and churches throughout the country, many of them attended by worshippers of other denominations.
A national broadcast was delivered over all stations of the South African Broadcasting Corporation, when the Bishop of Johannesburg gave an address in English, and Dr. W. Nicol, Moderator of the Dutch Reformed Church, spoke in Afrikaans. Goodwill Day received the almost unanimous support of the South African press.
