The first phase of a large archaeological project in the western part of the Jezreel Valley will be carried out in July and August under the auspices of the Hebrew University’s Institute of Archaeology. The project is scheduled to last five years, with its first stage concentrating on Tel Yogne’am whose Canaanite King is mentioned as one of those defeated by Joshua. The archaeological expedition will be directed by Dr. Amnon Ben-Tor.
