The first step toward the founding in Palestine of an agricultural settlement to house and provide a livelihood for 8,000 Jewish refugees from Hungary, now held on Cyprus, was announced by Samuel Ohlbaum, former president of the United Hungarian Jews of America, who heads a provisional committee ##formed for the purpose by Hungarian Jewish organizations in New York City.The program which is to be carried out through the Jewish National Fund in cooperation with the Jewish Agency, calls for the acquisition of an extensive land ##tract upon which the settlement is to be built. The settlement is planned as a memorial to the 600,000 Jews slain by the Nazis in Hungary.
