The Foreign Press Association in Israel criticized a government decision to boycott the BBC because of its allegedly biased coverage. The association said in a statement that taking steps against a news outlet because its reporting is considered unfavorable contradicts freedom of the press in a democratic country. Israel said this week that it was barring senior officials from appearing on BBC, but would continue giving the service access to news conferences.
