The founder of Hamas called on his followers to launch terror strikes against Israel. Sheik Ahmed Yassin also told the London-based Arabic newspaper Al-Hayat that Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat should open a dialogue with Hamas to “unify Palestinians against Israeli obstinacy.” Yassin, who was released from an Israeli prison last October as part of a prisoner swap, meanwhile arrived for a three- day visit to Iran, where he reportedly praised Tehran’s staunch anti-Israel stance.
