The fourth annual campaign of the Jewish Community chest of Vancouver, B.C. was launched on Oct. 23 Under the leadership of William N. Zimmerman and William J. Levin, they are aiming to collect more than $15,000 this year.
There are more than 20 charities that the chest donates to among them are: Vancouver Hebrew Aid, Talmud Torah, Winnipeg Jewish Orphanage and Old Folks Home, Denver Consumptive Home, Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary in New York and also Palestinian societies. This year an added benificiary to the chest will be the United Jewish Campaign which will received a large donation. For the past three years since the chest was organized, it has proven satisfactory to Vancouver Jewry, and more than $12,000 in cash has been collected annually.
