The French ambassador to the United States canceled a meeting with American Jewish leaders that was called to discuss anti-Semitism in France. Thursday’s meeting, planned jointly by the Senate Republican Policy Conference and the Republican Jewish Coalition, was canceled late Wednesday, when Ambassador Francois Bujon de L’Estang declined to attend. A spokesman for the French Embassy in Washington told JTA the ambassador prefers to meet with one Jewish group at a time, rather than all at once.
