The French government is considering the recent murder of a Jewish man to be an anti-Semitic act. French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin said Monday night that the minister of justice had ordered that last week’s torture and murder of 23-year-old Ilan Halimi be considered “premeditated murder motivated by religious affiliation.”
