The French press paid warm tribute today to Israel’s late President Ben-Zvi, lauding him as “the good Samaritan whose home was always open to all, as humble as they may have been,” and as a great and courageous statesman and scholar. Some 30 of the leading personalities of the country went to the Israel Embassy here today to inscribe their names in a “book of condolence.” Jewish communities throughout the country telegraphed and telephoned their condolences to the Embassy.
