The funeral of Abraham Freedman, vice-president of the Free Synagogue, who died at his home last Saturday afternoon, took place yesterday morning. Rabbi Stephen S. Wise officiated, and the three associate rabbis of the Free Synagogue, Rabbis Sidney E. Goldstein, Morton M. Berman and J. X. Cohen, were also present. Burial was at the Free Synagogue Westchester Hills Cemetery, in Westchester, N. Y.
Officers of the Various Free Synagogue organizations who were present included Joseph M. Levine, president of the Synagogue; Dr. Benjamin A. Horn, president of the Men’s Club; Mrs. Sidney E. Goldstein, president of the Women’s Organization, and Benjamin Schloss, president of the Synagogue Social Service Department.
Mr. Freedman died at his residence, 38 East Eighty-fifth street, of an intestinal disorder. He was fifty-two years old. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Rose Freedman, his widow, Florence Jacobs Freedman, and his two sons, Alan and Lewis.
Mr. Freedman maintained law offices at 39 Broadway. He was the founder and first president of the Men’s Club of the Free Synagogue.
