The Greek Orthodox patriarch in Jerusalem denied a report that his church had sold land to Jews. “Nobody came and claimed property ownership, and even if somebody claims he bought it, it needs the approval of the Holy Synod,” Irineos I told reporters Thursday. “Even the patriarch himself cannot sell it.”
