The head of Israel’s Shin Bet defended the agency’s practice of shaking suspected terrorists during interrogation. Ami Ayalon, who called the practice a vital method for stopping acts of terror, submitted a statement to the High Court of Justice before it holds a hearing later this week on whether to continue to allow the practice.
