The hundredth anniversary of the birth of Sholem Aleichem was observed festively here last night at the Jewish School here, largest school of the kind in the country. More than 1, 200 students of the school rendered a program of readings, dramatizations and songs related to Sholem Aleichem’s works–all in Yiddish. This was the first of many special Sholem Aleichem celebrations scheduled in Mexico.
