The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has declined to confirm or deny that its representative who investigated a mystery ailment on the West Bank a week ago shares the Israeli view that the symptoms which sent hundreds of teenage Arab girls to hospitals were a manifestation of mass hysteria. Dr. Franz Altherr, who conducted the investigation on behalf of the Red Cross, has refused to make any comment to the press since he returned to Geneva last Tuesday.
