The International Ladies Garment Workers Union has sent a letter to Samuel Gompers, in reply to his letter urging immigration restriction, refusing to participate in his campaign. Gompers in his letter appealed to the self-interest of the unionists to prevent an immigration which might compete with them for jobs; but the garment workers repudiate such a viewpoint and state that their attitude on immigration is based on humane considerations.
