The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra received an enthusiastic ovation last night at its first concert of its current tour of Europe and America. The orchestra, conducted by Carlo Mario Giulini, played the European premier of Noah Sheriff’s “Shirei Hamaalot.”
At its second and final concert here tonight, the orchestra presented the first performance of Ben Haim’s “Capriccio for Piano and Orchestra.” Pnira Salzman, Israeli pianist, was the soloist.
