The Israeli army has lost its moral stature, according to a former deputy Mossad chief. Shmuel Toledano was speaking at a lecture by Israel’s chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Moshe Ya’alon, at the Institute for Peace and Security. “How can one love the army when it acts as it presently does?” Toledano asked, referring to Israeli actions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
