The Israeli Cabinet formally approved the appointment of a former Knesset member and ambassador to France as Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations. The Moroccan-born Yehuda Lankri, 51, is a member of the Gesher movement of Foreign Minister David Levy. Lankri is scheduled to travel to New York next month for the opening of the United Nations General Assembly and to assume responsibilities from his predecessor, Dore Gold.
