The Israeli government approved aid for poultry farmers whose stock was hit by bird flu. On Sunday, Israel earmarked the equivalent of $3.4 million for affected farmers, as hundreds of thousands of turkeys and chickens were slaughtered in an attempt to curb the virus. Bird flu was confirmed last Friday at three kibbutzim and a moshav after some 11,000 turkeys died.
