The Israeli public’s views on the Catholic Church and Christianity markedly improved following Pope John Paul II’s weeklong pilgrimage to the Holy Land, according to a new survey. The pope’s visits to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial and the Western Wall sparked the improvement, pollsters at Bar-Ilan University said.
