The Jerusalem Post named Paul Wolfowitz, one of the architects of the Iraq war, as its Man of the
Year for 5763. Wolfowitz, the U.S. deputy defense secretary, guided the U.S. doctrine of pre-emption, which framed the war in Iraq and “will underpin U.S. action against other rogue states,” the paper wrote. Acknowledging critics who say Bush led the United States to war based on advice from Jewish advisers, the paper also said that the “name ‘Wolfowitz’ has become” a “lightning rod for anti-Semitism.”
